Writer's Block: Best book ever! [07 Mar 2010|12:28pm]

Is there any book you can read over and over again without ever getting sick of it? Do you discover something new every time you read it?

I rarely re-read novels, the only few I can think of were because I had to resume a series after a long break - like Dark Tower I-IV (which I did get more out of the 2nd time around). There are some books I re-read a lot as a kid though, especially the Redwall series. I'm surprised that Redwall doesn't get mentioned more often as a favorite childhood series. It was the best thing ever.

Now it just seems like there are too many good books to read, and too little time to read, to spend time reading old ones again!

Writer's Block: Game dream believer [01 Feb 2010|05:47pm]

If you could wake up and spend 24 hours in an online game with any weapons/powers, would you do it? If so, what type of game would you choose, and why?

After watching Johnny play Mass Effect 2 for a few days, I would have to pick that. The other day I was saying how it's like a really good sci fi book series and movie combined into one, with the scope of the Foundation series but with the bonus of cool aliens (and getting to play it of course). Also, I would have to hang out with Seth Green's character just long enough for him to say, "See ya, Ola."

*Edit: oh wait. Online game...I cheated! I keep my answer though since I can't think of an online game I'd want to live in. :/

How did you choose your LiveJournal username? Is there an interesting story behind it?

Where my LJ name came from:

"Aerobicide" is a song by Julie Ruin, who is an alter ego of Kathleen Hanna, from Bikini Kill. I chose the name in high school because it sounded cool, plus I was way into riot grrl bands. It's a weird noisy song with mostly unintelligible lyrics. It's funny that in 2002 (when I started this journal) the ability to watch any music video ever, instantly, wasn't quite around yet. Of course, now the song is on YouTube:

The quality isn't the best but you get the idea.

I also found out today that there's a horror movie called Killer Workout that is also known as Aerobicide:

THE END.

flier for jan 23rd [22 Dec 2009|09:07pm]

Made this flier based on an old book cover:

Learning how to do the weathering effect was fun, I'm going to try and do some more stuff like this for Cock and Swan in the near future. I wish I had a way to identify fonts though, I can never match them exactly. This one was a Helvetica knockoff.

I made my Twitter private so I guess it doesn't post here anymore...it took me a while to figure that out!
